Hello Readers -
With the advent of AI tools - whether generative or otherwise - there will be an impact on hiring trends across industries. This impact will reveal itself over time. Each year, as model capabilities improve, you will witness the job market changing in real time. This will have real impact on the workforce, but in my view, like every technological advancements, there will be opportunities as well.
We at Revealera are on top of these trend changes and will keep our clients updates with what the data shows us. To this effect, we are working on a GenAI white paper, a sneak peek of which is already available (please reach out to info@revealera.com and ask for it). The full version of the white paper will be available for Revealera clients and paid subscribers of this substack.
Bloomberry recently published a report that has gained a lot of applause and this report is based on Revealera’s data. If the topic of AI and the future of work interests you I recommend you take a look at this
Bloomberry's Revealera data based GenAI report
Here’s the actual tweet: Bloomberry tweet
This report is based on freelancing data which Revealera provides from Upwork job posts (which is also available to our clients on the Revealera web app). The following chart is revelatory:
Notably, for jobs in writing where we know the GenAI model capabilities are already strong, we see an attrition but in other categories we do not see such an effect. Which goes to my point of the impact will not be sudden but slow and steady as capabilities around software engineering, video editing, graphic design, animation evolve.
A lot more to come on this topic soon. Enjoy the weekend!
Revealera Team.
